PENGARUH BACK MASSAGE TERHADAP NYERI RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PADA LANSIA: SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic systemic inflammatory autoimmune disease that attacks the joints. One of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis that often occurs in the elderly is the joints of the hands, elbows, feet, ankles and knees. It is estimated that it reaches 23.6% - 31.3% of pain in joint inflammation problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Back Massage on Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain in the Elderly through a systematic literature review study.
The research method uses a systematic literature review. The population was obtained from google scholar, pubmed and since direct obtained 183 articles using the Quasy experiment technique, a sample of 6 articles was obtained using JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) analysis.
The results of Back Massage Against Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain in the Elderly with a decrease before back massage therapy the respondent's average pain was 4.97 (moderate pain) with a standard deviation of 0.669 and after giving back massage therapy the respondents' average pain decreased to 3 , 27 (mild pain) with a standard deviation of 0.868, a mean difference of 1.70 was obtained with a P-value of 0.000. From the 6 journals obtained, it was stated that back massage therapy had an effect on rheumatoid arthritis pain in the elderly. So it is suggested that this research can be used as a basic material or reference in improving nursing care in terms of some literature in dealing with rheumatoid arthritis in the elderly by using back massage.
